I'm Saurav Bandi — a Cloud & AI Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, specializing in building intelligent, scalable platforms that drive real-world impact. I work across Energy and Retail verticals, helping enterprise customers architect and deploy AI-powered solutions using services like Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, QuickSight, Redshift, and modern multi-agent orchestration patterns.

With over 7 years of experience spanning education, healthcare, energy, retail, and enterprise SaaS, I've architected HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms, AI workbenches for K-12 educators, multi-agent pricing accelerators, and zero-touch IT automation pipelines — all backed by deep expertise in AWS, AI/ML, Node.js, React, and modern DevOps workflows.

Beyond engineering, I bring a strong lens of product thinking and design leadership. I've led product design efforts for education platforms, delivered hands-on AI enablement workshops for global enterprises, and presented solutions at AWS Summits and national conferences. 2015 – 2019

The Foundation of Engineering

During my undergraduate years, I dove deep into systems thinking and problem-solving. I founded an AR/VR training startup, trained over 3,500 students, and led it to a successful acquisition — proving early on that engineering, when paired with vision, can create real-world impact.

2019 – 2021

Scaling Ideas Into Systems

Xlenz LLP — Hyderabad, India & San Francisco, CA

Co-architected and managed the development of an AR/VR engine that brought immersive learning to life across education and enterprise. I collaborated with cross-functional teams in design, development, and content to deliver a scalable platform. Also led the development of a COVID-19 tracking app adopted by police departments — a project that showed me the real-world impact of purposeful technology.

2021 – 2022

Scaling Systems for Business Impact

BizTechCube Consulting — Hyderabad, India

Engineered the software and cloud architecture for a custom e-commerce platform with an AWS-based demand forecasting tool, driving over $3M in sales. Also led the end-to-end delivery of a Linode-based AR-enabled e-learning platform for one of India's top publishers — from client acquisition to deployment — contributing to $6M+ in revenue.

2022 – 2024

Master's, Research & Immersive Innovation

Penn State / NSF — Malvern, PA, USA

As a Graduate Research Fellow at Penn State, I secured over $950K in NSF funding and co-authored a paper accepted at the Winter Simulation Conference. While pursuing my Master's in Engineering Management (4.0 GPA), I developed an interactive VR learning environment using Unity and C#, and led data analysis to evaluate its effectiveness. Awarded a fully funded $140K NSF scholarship in recognition of academic and research excellence.

Spent a semester studying and presenting abroad across France, Germany, and Switzerland. Represented Penn State at EM Strasbourg Business School, presenting research on immersive technologies in education and fostering cross-cultural dialogue on innovation and impact.

Cloud, AI & Scalable Impact

Kovexa Solutions — Washington, DC, USA

Led the cloud and AI architecture for Kadal — a scalable AI workbench for K–12 deployed across multiple school districts. Built on AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront, DocumentDB), the platform is modular, secure, and designed for scale. Also architected Hermes Health, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform with multi-AZ failover. Presented these solutions at AWS Summit DC, ASBO International, and AASA Nashville.

2025 – Present

Architecting Intelligence at Scale

Amazon Web Services — Dallas, TX, USA

Joined AWS as a Solutions Architect, working across Energy and Retail verticals. Built multi-agent AI systems using Bedrock and AgentCore, delivered enterprise AI workshops, published open-source AWS Guidance, and won 2nd place globally in a hackathon building an AI agent transparency platform. Saurav worked with me as a Research Assistant for two years during his Master's studies at The Pennsylvania State University, Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies. The research project was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Saurav's research involved investigating the impact of immersion level on learning outcomes by comparing task completion in virtual reality (VR) versus on a typical computer viewed on a 2D display. He designed and developed a VR environment involving a simulation-based learning activity related to fundamental concepts of mathematical optimization. He conducted a set of experiments with 75 research participants that he recruited, administered surveys and questionnaires, and performed data cleaning and analysis. The research results are presented in a research paper that he co-authored, which has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 2024 Winter Simulation Conference. I believe Saurav has the key characteristics to make a successful practitioner and researcher. I found Saurav to be a dedicated, goal-oriented, organized, trustworthy, and hardworking individual. Saurav is one of the best research assistants I have ever had, and I would highly recommend him to my fellows in academia and industry.
